Jake's First Letter!

We FINALLY got our first letter from Jake! It was a long few days for us, but it's good to know he's doing so great! We sent a paper with a few questions that we asked him to fill out and send back to us. Here's what he sent back:

Who is your companion?
Ray Romano. Just kidding. He sounds just like him though. His name is Elder Cameron Keysor.

Where is he from?
Danville, California

What do you have in common with him?
Nothing so far, but we get along great. I already love him.

What day is your P-Day?
I don't get one this week, but it will be Fridays.

How was your first day?
Amazing! I love it here, more than I thought I would. It was a good balance of easing us in, giving us freedom, and getting us learning and working. I love learning in Spanish!

Have you seen any OHS/Ventana friends yet?
I've seen lots of people I know...Spencer Greer, Cameron Alldredge's mom, Cody Henson, Conner Cope, Curtis Killpack, Terren Woodis, Trevor Hemenway, and the missionaries I did splits with.

Did you/we forget to pack anything?
Everything seems good so far.

Who is your Branch President and where is he from?
President Tyler. Not sure where he's from. I'll find out tomorrow. I don't recognize him though.

Love my district. Love everything. Love you guys. Talk to you next Friday. Love, Jake

Remember to write him--he would LOVE to hear from everyone! You can use Dear Elder (dearelder.com; select Provo MTC as the mission) or his MTC address:

the departure.

Well, today was the day. We dropped Jake off at the MTC today at 1:00 pm. It was pretty emotional for all of us--but, as my mom likes to say, they were "happy hurt" tears. We all know he is doing what he is supposed to do and we are so proud of him. It's just hard to say goodbye for two whole years! But we would not have it any other way. We love Jake and cannot wait to receive his first email! For now, here's some pictures of the drop-off. Enjoy!

PS hopefully you enjoy these because we sure did not enjoy dropping him off...;)

The last meal. Wendy's, of course.
